Safety Precautions We Are Taking
THRIVE has remained open throughout the pandemic, however, we take the safety of our volunteers, staff, donors, and clients very seriously. We have altered the way we deliver nearly all of our services so we can keep serving local families but keeping everyone safe from infection. We are taking every precaution necessary including:

  1. CURBSIDE PICKUP: All donors and food pantry recipients will be served using the curbside pick up model. Come to our backdoor and call us to tell us you've arrived (757-877-6211x2). Please wear a mask if you get out of our vehicle or feel free to stay in your vehicle and pop your trunk.
  2. CLEANING: We are regularly sanitizing all surfaces inside our facility. Food pantry volunteers are required to wear gloves.
  3. FACE MASKS: All personnel is required to wear face masks when inside the building and maintain a 6 foot distance.
  4. FINANCIAL COACHING: Financial coaching appointments are held over the phone for the elderly or high at risk population. All others appointments are conducted inside the building; the coach and client are separated by a large plastic sneeze guard, with masks and face shields provided to all parties.
  5. MANDATORY TEMPERATURE CHECKS: All volunteers, financial coaching clients, and other building visitors are required to use our hands-free, self-check thermometer stationed in our lobby.
